Veranda Beach in the heat!

It has been too long since I did a post. The problem is that I have a hard time getting around to getting my pictures on the computer to put on my blog.

So, this will be a little pictureless with the hopes of me getting them back on the computer soon.

Our most exciting thing about August was finding some heat in Oroville, WA. We went to Veranda Beach Resort and had a fantastic time. They had great "cottages" ( bigger than our house), private beach, fun swimming pool and seadoo rentals.

We learned that:
  • Lindy is a fish - she swam all over in the leg with no flotation devices - her parents had to have them periodically! They had a great floating trampoline to swim to. Even better when the sea gull poop was washed off every morning by our, or other children at the resort.
  • Tyler is also a fish - a fearless one! He would run and jump pools, when we were barely ready to catch him. At the end we tried him with water wings and he could actually float with his feet fully off the bottom. He would jump out of the kid's pool and go jump in the hot tub giving everyone in there a heart attack because we couldn't follow him fast enough. Sure enough he would surface with that crazy smile of his!
  • Rachel loved to lounge on the air mattress, but was a crazy tube rider behind the seadoo. She also participated in a hula hoop contest.
  • Our children under Damon's direction were master sand castle makers
  • Grandma Bectell and Grandma Sandy were amazing dish doers, meal makers, child watchers and keepers of the treats in the shade!
  • Coulson was a trooper on the way home - he got car sick a total of 15 - 20 times. On the way home we stopped at a rest stop and when we got back in we couldn't find him. It turns out that he was hiding behind the van because he didn't want to get back in -it was so miserable and he handled it with very little complaining.
  • Potty chairs and vehicles in motion are a very dangerous combination. Adventures in Tyler's potty training continue! We were just grateful he respected the floors of the cottage.
  • We loved being together as a family and MY LEGs Even got a Little color in them! YOOHOO!

The pictures are coming, I will try to make it a priority in the next few days!
