Though I swore I'd never marry a farmer, there are great things to love about this place and our lives together -
The View
I remember sitting in what is now our living room at one of Jeff's family dinners, looking out the window, and being amazed at the beauty and majesty of the mountains. I tease him that I married him for the view.
I love the fact that my husband comes in for lunch,
that he takes our children with him in the truck and tractor,
that in some seasons of the year there is a lot of family time.
I love that my children can run and play,
get fresh air and learn responsibility as they do meaningful chores.
Our oldest son, Damon, has a 4H calf for his 2nd year. This year he is starting to go on his own to feed his calf - even in the dark, he is opening gates and starting to move cow/calf pairs on horse back - and he makes a difference in his Dad's life and his work load.
And our youngest son, Tyler, has a chance to say things like cow, horse, and ear tagger for his first words. . .
and at almost 2 years old,
has a great love for farm magazines.
Most of all I love that: we have each other, we have God, we have 5 beautiful children.
It's a Wonderful Life!!
